Gluten-Free Onion Rings

Using The Really Great Food Company All-Purpose Flour


YOU WILL NEED:

 

  • 1 cup RGF All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 large onion cut into ¼ inch slices
  • ¼ cup of corn starch
  • ½ tsp of cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of cold sparkling water
  • 2 cups GF bread crumbs or Panko
  • 3-4 cups oil

 

 

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Separate the onion slices into rings, set aside.
  2. Add the flour, corn starch, cayenne pepper, salt, and ground black pepper to a bowl. whisk until well combined.
  3. Add water slowly. Whisk until a smooth batter forms.
  4. Dip onion slices into batter until its completely covered.
  5. Place breadcrumbs in bowl. Dredge the onion rings into bread crumbs 1 or 2 at a time. Set aside.
  6. Heat oil in deep fryer or deep pot to 365*
  7. Fry onion rings in small batches until golden brown. About 2-3 minutes
  8. Remove and place on paper towels to drain.
  9. Serve with favorite condiment and enjoy!
